If you’re concerned about the safety of visiting the dentist during COVID-19, you’re not alone. However, be informed that our team has worked hard to go above and beyond regulations to provide the highest level of patient care available. The safety of our patients is our highest priority at all times, and we continue to use updated infection control techniques and procedures for every patient who walks through our doors. We know this is a difficult time for everyone, and we are taking steps to be as open as possible with our patients about any changes in our processes and procedures to make sure you’re comfortable and informed when you come to see us.

Safety Practices At Our Dental Office

In response to COVID-19, many dental offices have implemented changes to ensure the safety of everyone in the office. Here is what we follow:

  • You may be asked to wait outside or in the reception area until your treatment time. This will allow for social distancing throughout the office.
  • Your hygienist may ask you to wear a mask. If you normally wear one at home but forgot it, you may be asked to wear it during your visit. This helps to prevent the spread of germs from person to person.
  • During your procedure, the dentist and staff will practice extra safety precautions to keep everyone safe in the dental office. The dentist and hygienist will wear protective equipment, safety glasses, or goggles.
  • Dental instruments may also be covered in plastic barriers known as sterile sheaths to prevent contamination. If your dentist uses any handheld tools during the procedure, he or she will use a hand protection barrier called a cover glove to protect hands and keep them clean.

Is My Safety At Risk?

The short answer is no. We take our commitment to your safety very seriously, and though we work in an environment where safety and sanitation are of utmost importance, our patients are also our top priority.

Dental offices have never stopped meeting the same stringent standards they’ve always met when it comes to cleanliness and safety. In fact, many dental offices like ours have taken additional steps to increase safety precautions in their office to keep patients and staff safe as we continue practicing dentistry during the pandemic. This can include added handwashing stations, increased disinfecting measures, and more.

We have upped their level of sterilization practices to ensure the safest experience possible for all patients. Our office has gone above and beyond by implementing enhanced disinfection protocols and cleaning routines to ensure that we’re providing the highest level of care possible during this difficult time. Our infection control processes are some of the best in the industry, and we continue to exceed all standards for infection prevention and prevention.

Dental offices have also been able to continue offering the same level of dental care to patients that they did before the coronavirus became a concern. As more states ease restrictions and reopen businesses, these will likely be continued as we all work to reopen safely while still adhering to CDC guidelines to protect patients and employees. This is because your health and safety remain of utmost priority to your dentist and team.

We want all of our patients to be able to receive the dental care they need without fear of contracting an illness as a result of visiting the dentist. Please contact us today to schedule an appointment at our dental office. We look forward to helping you achieve a healthier smile!
